For this poster, I wanted to show the history of suffrage and bring light to the importance of voting. The characters at the bottom of the page are all important figures in the biography of the vote: Malcolm X is on the far left; beside him is Martin Luther King Jr; on his left is Angela Davis; adjacent to her is Marsha P. Johnson; behind her is Alice Paul; lastly, on the far right, is Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Atop is a person meant to symbolize the younger generation of voters. They are being lifted up by everyone who had fought for their right to vote in the past. I wanted to show how much effort and collective action went into our right to vote. We must use the voice past heroes worked so hard to amplify.
